Keep It 100

Aug 17, 2025    Pastor Jordan Braswell

This week’s sermon, explored Psalm 13 and the importance of honesty and transparency in our relationship with God. David though remembered as a great king, also lived a life of struggle, loss, and hardship. What set him apart was his willingness to bring everything—his grief, questions, failures, and praises, before God.

The message emphasized that our prayer life reveals the true depth of our faith. Too often, we hide parts of our lives from God or pray only about what we think is “appropriate.” But David modeled a different way: he prayed about everything. His laments, which make up over 30% of the Psalms, always ended in praise. Through prayer, even in moments of despair, David found new perspective, hope, and strength.

Pastor Jordan challenged us to “keep it 100” with God, bringing our full selves, our hidden struggles, and our raw emotions to Him. When we are transparent in prayer, God meets us, corrects us, reminds us of His faithfulness, and opens our eyes to His ongoing work in our lives.
